About Us

Our Mission

Openly Sharing The Loving Christ! Who are we? We are a community of Christians who gather around God's Word and sacraments. In response to Christ's love we reach out and care for all people, encouraging them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. That means you are very important to us! Regardless of where you are in life, there is a place for you here. Our desire as a church is to assist you and your family in your growth whether it is spiritual, emotional, physical or relational. We pray that this site will provide you with information and insight into our mission and ministry. Visit us often for updates and new information.

Who We Are

Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2225 E. 14 Mile Rd, four blocks east of Woodward Ave. is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Our Shepherd was first organized in 1950, and has enjoyed an unusually rapid growth and still is enjoying it to this day. We continually get new guests at our church, experiencing the word of God for themselves.

When We Worship

We hold praise & worship services on Saturdays at 6:00pm and on Sundays at 8:00am, 9:30am and 11:00am. A supervised nursery is available at all of the services. There are also Bible Classes for high school youth and adults and Sunday School for children at 9:30am.

What We Believe

The Bible is the true Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16

Man by nature is a sinner. Romans 3:23

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Jesus Christ, son of God and Man, died on Calvary's cross in order that man through faith in Him might know everlasting life. Acts 16:31

We have been saved to serve, and it is therefore our privelege to proclaim to men everywhere that Christ is the world's only hope, through Whom alone can forgiveness be realized. Mark 16:15

What Others Say

Others tell us that Our Shepherd is known for its friendliness and enthusiasm, excellent Church and Communion attendance, and generous support of the tasks to which we are committed as the servants of Jesus Christ.
