Reading the Bible with Jesus

Pastor Evan Gaertner | April 14, 2024

"Read the Bible with Jesus" Luke 24:13-49 Preacher Evan Gaertner On the same day as the resurrection, Jesus walked with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Jesus opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. St. Luke writes, “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” Read the Bible with Jesus. Jesus is present in all of the Scriptures. All Bible study, teaching, discipleship, and preaching are done with Christ at the center. Jesus is not a tag on to the Bible. Jesus is not a tag on to the life of a Christian. The men on the road to Emmaus said, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” Jesus is never just a note in the margins, he is the center. Our hearts are on fire when Jesus is at the center.
